Now the one thing I do like about the Tereshkova is the box is a little bit smaller, and they give us a little bit more room and leeway of how we're going to mount it. Each kit is going to provide you with some double sided sticky tape, that you can mount to the back of the box and then mount to a flat surface, but Tereshkova has also taken that into thought and added this small tab where you can actually take a zip tie or self tapping screw and use this little eyelet to attach it to wherever surface you see fit. With the Curt however, it's just going to be a flat rectangular box. more

It is going to provide us with a four pole flat trailer connector, and it's going to provide us with all of our required lights to get down the road safely, such as our taillights, brake lights, and our turn signals. Our wiring is going to stay on the inside of the car until we're ready to use it. Then when we do want to use it, we can simply drop out the length of four pole wire right by our hitch. And since we have this nice weather stripping here, so long as we stay away from the actual latch of our hatch, we'll be okay.Let me just drop it out, close the hatch, and then we have plenty of length of wire to hook up to our trailer. And whenever we're finished towing and we're not using our wiring, it'll conveniently stow underneath the compartment nice and out of the way. Now, our wiring is a custom wiring kit, so it is made specifically for your Rogue. Now, we're only going to have a few connections to make behind the taillights, but that's going to be on the inside panel, so we're going to have to remove some of the interior panels in the back of our hatch. There's not going to be any kind of cutting or splicing into our factory wires. more

Speaker 1: Today on this 2017 Nissan Frontier, we'll be having a look at and showing you how to install the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector, part number C56225. This wiring is going to give us the basic lighting functions that are required by law in order of us to safely and legally tow a trailer. We're gonna have our left turn signal, our right turn signal, our break lights, and our tail lights, plus our running lights. One great thing about this wiring harness is it does have a dust cover that's included, so when it's not in use, you don't have to worry about the elements or corrosion damaging your connector. Another good thing about this working harness is that it's plug and play to your vehicle's existing tow package wiring, so there is no cutting or modification required to your vehicle. It's a simple plug and go operation. Here's a tech tip that I have. If you put a little bit of the dielectric grease inside your connector, which we have available on our website and then seal the dust cover up over it, that will help better protect it from the elements, making sure you have a proper electrical connection every time you hook up to your trailer. Now that we've gone over some features, we're gonna show you how to get it installed. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2017 Nissan Frontier 118525

Speaker 1: Today on this 2017 Nissan Frontier, we'll be having a look at and showing you how to install the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with a Four-Pole Flat Trailer Connector, part number 118525.Here's what the wiring looks like installed. This wiring harness is going to give us the basic lighting functions that are required by law in order for us to safely and legally tow a trailer. We're going to have our tail lights, our running lights, our turning signals, and our brake lights, and on each one of those circuits we're going to have a total power output of 7.5 amps, which is more than sufficient to tow a trailer with about three or four incandescent light bulbs per our turn signals or our brake lights. If we're running LED lights, we'll be basically able to run about as much LED lights as we want because they do draw significantly less power than incandescent lights. One nice feature about our wiring harness is we have a built-in dust cover to help better protect it from the elements when it's not in use. Now, one thing that I like to do is to take a little bit of dielectric grease, which we have available on our website, and put it inside of our connector. This will help better protect it from any moisture, which could potentially cause corrosion over time, and be fully protected. Now that we've gone over some features, we'll show you how to get it installed. To begin our install, we need to find our factory tow package connector. more

When you do want to use it, simply pull it out, drop your panel back down. What you want to do is rest it over this rubber trim here. Stay away from any connection points that your hatch is going to make. more

Best 2017 Nissan Frontier Trailer Wiring Options

Today we're going to be taking a look at the best wiring options for your 2017 Nissan Frontier. Here we're going to have the Tekonsha, which is going to give us a seven-pole at the end of our vehicle. Here we're going to have the CURT, which is also going to give us a seven-pole. Then here we have the Tekonsha, which is going to give us a four-pole. Finally, the CURT that's going to be give us a four-pole flat. Now the main difference between all of our wiring kits is going to be the end connector. Now both of our kits here, the CURT and the Tekonsha, are both going to give us a seven-pole flat and not only give us our required lights, but they're also going to give us control of our brakes and a 12-volt power source coming out. Our Tekonsha and our CURT that are going to give us a four-pole flat will give us all of our required lights, such as our taillights, brakes, and turn signals, but we're not going to have any control over our brakes. Now these aren't the only kits available for your Frontier, but what's going to set these apart from all the other ones is that they do come with the required relays so that the connector at the end of your vehicle will light up the lights on your trailer. If you're towing a small trailer where you only need the lights and you don't need a brake controller activator or anything like that, I think the CURT and the Tekonsha four-pole connectors would be a good option because, if we're not using a brake controller, this is still going to have all the required functions to get our lights working. On the other hand, if you are towing a heavy trailer where you do have a brake controller hooked up, or if you need your reverse lights or anything like that, I think the seven-way is going to be the way to go because you are going to have those extra functions as well as more amperage coming out. The way our harness is going to install for each one of these is going to be relatively the same. more

Best 2005 Nissan Frontier Trailer Wiring Options

Today we're going to be taking a look at the best wiring options for your 2005 Nissan Frontier. Here we're gonna have the Tekonsha which is gonna go as a seven pole at the end of our vehicle and then here we're gonna have the Curt which is also gonna give us a seven pole and then here we have the Tekonsha which is gonna give us a four pole and then finally the Curt that's gonna give us a four pole flat. Now the main difference between all of our wiring kits, it's gonna be the end connector. Now both of our kits here, the Curt and the Tekonsha are both gonna give us a seven pole flat and not only give us our required lights but they're also gonna give us control of our brakes and a 12 volt power source coming out. Our Tekonsha and our Curt that are gonna give us our four pole flat will give us all the required lights, such as our taillights, brakes and turn signals but we're not gonna have any control over our brakes. These aren't the only kits available for your Frontier, but what's gonna set these apart from all the other ones is that they do come with the required relays so that the connector at the end of your vehicle will light up the lights on your trailer. If you're towing a small trailer, where you only need the lights and you don't need a brake controller activator or anything like that, I think the Curt and the Tekonsha four pole connectors will be a good option because if we're not using a brake controller this is still gonna have all the required functions to get our lights working. On the other hand if you are towing a heavy trailer or you do have a brake controller hooked up or if you need your reverse lights or anything like that I think the seven way is gonna be the way to go because you are gonna have those extra functions as well as more amperage coming out. The way our harness is gonna install, for each one of these is gonna be relatively the same. It's gonna be a two piece harness so on one end, which is gonna be towards the back of our vehicle, is gonna to connect to a connector and then we're gonna take our harness here and we're gonna go to the inside of our cab and on the passenger side there's gonna be a kick panel that we need to remove and we're gonna plug it in and plug our relays in. Now the design between our Tekonsha and our Curt are gonna be very similar and they're gonna install exactly the same. Now really the only major difference that we're gonna notice is gonna be the dust cover on our four pole flat on the end. On the Curt, it is removable and replaceable whereas the Tekonsha it is built in. Another nice but small feature that the Tekonsha has with our four pole is they do provide us with some of this foam double sided tape so that when we install our relays we can actually wrap the foam around it which will prevent any rattling or any noise behind our kick panel. If all you need is the lights on your trailer, I think our Tekonsha or the Curt is a good choice. To make sure that you can go down the road safely. Our Tekonsha and Curt seven way harnesses are gonna have a lot of the same features. more

It's going to give us a four-pole flat, and it's going to provide us all the required lights to go down the road, such as our taillights, brake lights and turn signals.
